It IS easy being green!

Posted by Grace on 1st Jan 2014

Remember when the color turquoise was all the rage?  And then tangerine-orange was everywhere?  We can thank the color experts at Pantone for that.  They are the people that make color charts for print, paint, fabric, etc., so they know a thing or two about color. Industry leaders look to Pantone for inspiration on the latest color trends, and for 2013, Pantone declared emerald green to be the Color of the Year.  Pantone calls emerald "A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony." We call it "A color that looks fabulous on everyone." Think emerald green dresses on brunettes, blondes, redheads, fair skin, tanned skin. Love? Love. Emerald is a rich and vibrant color that is as memorable as it is wearable.  Who can forget Scarlett O'hara's green barbecue gown in Gone with the Wind? Three generations later, young girls are still loving that dress.  They may not know anything about Scarlett or the movie, but they sure want the dress for their dolls. What about the iconic green drapery dress?  It has been replicated and reproduced for girls and dolls alike, and it is still gorgeous after all these years. So wanna get in on the emerald trend?  We love this one from Pink Princess.

It has a deep emerald tone and features velvet bodice, layered bell sleeves, and glittered, flocked skirt. Love?  Love.
