It's no secret that girls love a good fairy tale. Even as we get older, the appeal of being married happily ever after to Prince Charming never fades. When England's Kate Middleton, a commoner, married William, a prince, she "took one for the team" - for "common" women everywhere who never lost hope of a modern-day fairy tale.

So naturally, when news broke that Kate was expecting, Pink Princess joined the rest of the world in excitement! This is the country that brought us great kings, queens, princes and princesses, Romeo + Juliet, Jane Austen, and the Spice Girls, and now it brings us a princeling! George Alexander Louis Mountbatten-Windsor was born on July 22nd, 2013 at 4:24 PM London time (he's one week old today!). At birth he weighed a healthy 8 pounds and 6 ounces. While there's no indication of his height at birth, we predict that he will be one TALL king, as mom and dad are 5'10" and 6'3" respectively! His birth fills the long-awaited role of grandchild to the late Princess Diana. For England and for the rest of the Anglo-speaking world, it's history being made and being reminded of in the present. For mom and dad, it's their first baby. To this we say congrats!
