Saying I Do with Red, White, and Blue

Posted by Leena Kollar on 2nd Jul 2014

Summer is a popular time for weddings. The weather is lovely (in most places), everyone is in the mood for traveling and the bright sunny days put everyone in a cheery mood. For some people, summer is a time to get married and celebrate other occasions. For those couples who want to celebrate summer love by showcasing their patriotism, there is the option of having a 4th of July themed wedding. Getting married on a holiday is not my cup of tea (I've always been a lemonade girl), but if the idea of saying "I do" surrounded by red, white & blue tickles your fancy, there are lots of ways to start forever with your love in a way that pays homage to our great country too. For the traditional bride, wearing a white wedding dress is probably a non-negotiable. But you can add a touch of patriotism by putting your flower girl in a red flower girl dress or a blue flower girl dress. Or you could tone it down by having her wear a white dress and adding a red or blue ribbon around the waist. Or maybe you could put her in red or blue shoes.

If you want to add more than just a touch of our country's independence to your wedding, you can go all out with your decor. From centerpieces to the wedding cake to the flowers, your big day can represent the red, white & blue all over. If you are not very creative, you can check sites like Pinterest for ideas, or hire a wedding coordinator to help with planning.
