Summer Bathing Suits: Stay Cool by the Pool

Posted by Jill on 11th Jul 2017

Summer is here and it is hot! It might be time for a new swimsuit for your little girl. Finding the perfect bathing suit is always an exciting endeavor. However, if you want your little cutie to stay cool by the pool, check out these super fun, practical and absolutely adorable bathing suit trends.

Pineapples
Pineapples, pineapple pineapples. Did we say pineapples? If you haven’t noticed, pineapples are all the rage in any and everything, from interior decorations to bathing suits. It doesn’t matter if you have multiple fruits in a pattern or one large gold one, as long as you have at least one pineapple, you’re in the trend.
If you are refraining from pineapples for some reason, consider other island vibes, such as palm trees or flamingos. Sand, seagulls, coconuts, and other tropical icons all remind us of summer, creating the aesthetic of playfulness and fun in the sun.

Girly
You can never go wrong with the classic girly girl look. Right now, big statement bows in the back of the suit are huge, as well as fun bows right in the top front. Stripes, polka dots, and nautical themes are timeless pieces. Geometric shapes and stripes in hot pink, yellow, and blue are a common thread in popular girl’s wear right now.
Random objects such as watermelons, other fruits, and flowers are more patterns you can’t go wrong with. Consider an ombre with a nice turquoise fading into a dark blue, or a solid color with a trim that pops. The bubble fit is also a great option. It flares out a bit toward the bottom of the suit, essentially creating a very girly bubble effect.

Texture
Ruffles and tulle, although not a typical choice for water, hold up surprisingly well. Let your daughter feel like a ballerina in the pool or ocean. 3D flowers that are attached to the bathing suit are also trending in summer suits this year.

Statement Pieces
While very nontraditional, sushi, dinosaurs, and other completely out of the blue objects are taking over. Thanks to brands like Hello Kitty and Paul Frank, which are coming back with a vengeance in little girl’s swimwear, we can all enjoy fun prints on our suits. Currently, it’s all about the one piece or two piece halter. All of the above patterns and fits can be found at Pink Princess. Enjoy staying cool in your new bathing suit and, as always, have fun but be safe by the water!
